SAP-MAC is a catalyst specially formulated to absorb moisture from Wet Quenched coke. It is a cross-linked polymer containing organometallic ions and is hydrophilic in nature.
When it comes in contact with water, the difference in the ionic concentration between the SAP-MAC network and water molecules generates osmotic pressure and pulls the water molecules into the cross-linked structure of SAP- MAC. By virtue of its hydrophilic nature, it holds these water molecules within its structure.
SAP-MAC is sprayed directly over the coke surface on the conveyor through a vibro-feeder blower mechanism. This can be installed without stopping the conveyor operation and can be supplied by Abhitech along with SAP-MAC
SAP-MAC absorbs water 300 to 400 times its own weight
Dosage ratio is 1kg of SAP-MAC to 4 tons of Coke
