CCA-99 increases the stamping density and creates a closed-packing carbon matrix structure. Increase in adhesive forces, results into stronger interparticle surface interactions. It fills the spaces between interconnected particles during carbonization, which results in stronger bonding. Consequently, compression and shear strengths of stamped coal are enhanced, resulting in higher coke strength.
